Privacy policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
This policy explains what information Pinlook (operated by the app developer named on the Shopify App Store listing) (“Pinlook”, “we”) collects when a merchant installs the Pinlook app on a Shopify store, and how it is used.
Information we access
When you install Pinlook, Shopify grants the app access to:
- Products (read only) — to let you tag products in lookbooks.
- Files — to store the photos and videos you upload in your own Shopify Files.
- Metaobjects — to save your lookbooks inside your store.
- Online Store pages — to create lookbook pages when you ask for one.
Pinlook does not access orders or customer records, and does not collect personal data of your store's visitors. The storefront blocks run inside your theme and talk only to your own store (for example, to add an item to the cart).
Information we store
Our database stores only the data needed to keep you signed in: your shop domain, the access token issued by Shopify and, for staff who open the app, the staff member's name, email and locale as provided by Shopify. Lookbook content is stored in your Shopify store, not on our servers.
How we use information
To provide the app, respond to support requests and meet legal obligations. We don't sell data or use it for advertising.
Where data is processed
The Pinlook server runs on Hetzner Online GmbH infrastructure in the European Union. Billing is handled by Shopify.
Retention and deletion
When you uninstall Pinlook, we delete your session data. Shopify removes the app's lookbook data from your store; uploaded files stay in your Files library. 48 hours after uninstall, Shopify sends a shop redaction request, and we confirm that nothing remains.
Your rights
Merchants in the EEA, UK and elsewhere may request access, correction or deletion of their data by writing to support@pinlook.app. Customer data requests received from Shopify are answered automatically, as Pinlook holds no customer data.
